On An Inhale

I don't usually weigh myself. I had a scale for about a year until it broke. It was a sleek looking fancy digital scale that would change by 10lbs ALL THE TIME. I wasn't a fan. I know when I am healthy by the way I feel, my energy levels and the way my clothes fit.

For the past 10 years I have turned around while on the scale at the doctors office and asked the nurse not to tell me my weight. I just didn't want to know and I didn't want to have to talk about it with a stranger. I tend to think you are either a scale person or an anti-scale person and there isn't much negotiating. But lately I have been thinking about investing in the dreaded scale.

In the winter I tend to slack off with exercise. It's great that I have weekly classes (and prep by running through the routine multiple times beforehand) to keep me in shape with yoga. HOWEVER, I need to increase my appearances at the gym. I was doing a great job a few weeks ago but slowly they have dropped off. My realistic goal (taking into consideration school, work and teaching) is 2-3 gym sessions and 2 yoga sessions a week.

I'm going to check back in with the scale and make sure I'm on track. This time I ordered an old school dial one with great reviews. I think having a number with keep me accountable but at the same time I am hoping that I will be able to still focus on my health rather than a sole number. I rather know when 2-3lbs start creeping up then when it hits me in the face that 10lbs are there!

Are you a scale person?

I have an old fashion one but I try to ignore it as much as possible. I agree that one should focus on health and how they feel rather than the scale but sometimes it is not see a nice steady rage on the scale.
