Who had a holiday party this weekend? I think most people had multiple! It seemed like the weekend to see family and friends. I saw my friends from college Friday night and Saturday afternoon and had a family Christmas party (Torey's side, I'm Jewish) yesterday. The party yesterday was a veggies/GF/and carnivores dream. It is possible to have a well rounded holiday party- and I was impressed!
So after those fun filled events, Monday comes and It's time to check in with ourselves and our routine. I think we an all use a little jump start to our digestion and metabolism.
Tips:
1. Water This is one of my forever tips. It always helps. Flush everything out with room temperature or warm water. Try not to shock the body with ice water. Add in lemon to give your organs a mini morning detox. Have at least 16oz while you go through your morning routine and before you eat.
2. Twists Practice yoga adding in some twists. I have some visuals Here. Twists literally help things move along and they are moves we often don't do enough.
3. Backbends Backbends are great for energy and the metabolism. When you are in a backbend you press into the Thymus gland. Pressing into the gland helps to get the metabolism going.
And on an unrelated note- CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD BALANCE TODAY! Christmas is coming ups and people tend to go crazy. Stay in check.
