Who knew I would miss waking up and going for a run in the morning!
If you have been reading On An Inhale for a while now you might remember when I decided that I wanted to run a 5k. I started off jogging about 1/2 mile then walking over and over again and it was HARD! Running does NOT come natural to me at all. It is such a physical and mental challenge. I think the mental part surprised me the most. I've said it many times, but I would not be able to run if I didn't also have yoga to help not only stretch me out but to help me manage my thoughts and control my breathing.
Since last spring, I have ran three 5k's and set my goals even higher when I decided to run my first 5 mile race on Thanksgiving! Recap 1st 5k, 2nd 5k, 3rd 5k and 5mile.
After Thanksgiving, I knew I needed a break from running over the winter. My knee was starting to click and hurt and it was getting cold and dark out. The past few weeks I have been getting really excited about the sun coming up earlier so I can start to run again! I need it to be light out by 6:20 so March 2nd it is! Because I am teaching so much I'm hoping to be able to run 1-2 times during the week and get one run in on the weekends with my Fiance, Torey. I always run better with him so those runs tend to be longer too.
I'm really worried if I'm going to have to start all over again running half miles at a time or if I will still have some of my stamina from the fall. Either way, I'm going to make it happen. This year I have a 5 mile in June and I would like to run my first 10k along with the Cambridge 5k (the 2nd 5k I ran) and then end with the Thanksgiving 5 miler again.
